Amo Kalsi

Amo Kalsi joined Richard Rogers Partnership, (RRP), as a Year Out in 1978 and went on to become a director in 1988. Over the course of three decades, he worked on some of the practice’s most prestigious projects, including Lloyd’s of London, The Millennium Dome, (now the O2), the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg, the Bordeaux Law Courts, Terminal 5 Heathrow Airport, 88 Wood Street and Terminal 4 Barajas Airport, which won the Stirling Prize in 2008.

Renowned for his extraordinary draughtsmanship, which elevated the technical drawing into an artform, Amo designed the Tidal Pumping Station in the London Docklands, the Maantis lighting system for Reggiani and the chandeliers which hang in the lobbies of the International Towers Sydney. He also developed the Berkeley Hotel canopy, which comprises carbon fibre beam and honeycomb glazing, and worked on a series of bus shelters and street furniture for Adshel and Cemusa.

Amo passed away in 2014.
