Working on his contribution to the International Quarter London in Stratford led to a thriving business quarter with physical and mental wellbeing at the heart – natural daylight, air quality, views, connectivity, and open spaces were in fact pivotal design considerations.
Other relevant work includes the LSE Centre Building, a boarding school that creates a city-like community, and Humane Rescue Alliance, promoting wellbeing for humans and pets alike.
Lorna Edwards will be joining the New London Architecture Expert Panel on Education, sharing thought-leadership on educational buildings, new learning patterns and how to create healthy and sustainable spaces that encourage successful learning environments.
With over 20 years’ experience, Lorna Edwards has largely focused on education and cultural buildings, playing a key role on award-winning schemes for clients including the the British Museum World Conservation and Exhibitions Centre as project architect for LSE Centre Building. Lorna drives RSHP’s sustainability team, reviewing practice procedures and knowledge share across the firm and beyond including as a member of the LETI Pioneers steering committee.
Lorna’s expertise has been instrumental in the ongoing expansion of The British Library at the heart of London’s knowledge economy which will provide new facilities to broaden the library’s outreach, education and exhibitions programmes integrated with a flexible life science hub and extensive public realm.
