“The east wing is a strategic investment to finish the airport infrastructure to accommodate long-haul flights “said State Councillor Pierre Maudet, Geneva Airport supervising magistrate.
The new pier will serve long haul flights to the airport and aims to improve passenger comfort, increase efficiency and help to strengthen the airport’s position in Central Europe. There will be six ‘MARS’ gates for larger aircraft, which are also capable of processing two smaller planes, plus three other positions accessible by bus. The terminal will be a model of sustainable airport development, and flexible enough to adapt long term, as the airport requires.
Aa large scale model of the new terminal was placed in the main terminal of the airport.
