Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners and Mace present Behind the Design: the design and construction of the World Conservation and Exhibitions Centre at the British Museum. The exhibition details the design process from the British Museum’s initial brief to RSHP’s approach to the design of the building, Mace’s construction methods and response to site constraints as well as the use of materials and technology to create a discreet building for staff and visitors of the Museum.
The design approach involved rigorous analysis and interpretation of the design brief and site. This informed the process and form of the architecture to create functional, flexible and elegant buildings and spaces for the British Museum.” Graham Stirk, Senior Partner, Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners.
The exhibition runs from 23 September to 18 October 2015 at New London Architecture, The Building Centre, 26 Store Street, London WC1E 7BT.
